http://www.buffalobills.com/photos/reese520_subsq.jpgAlthough safety Izell Reese was put on the Injured Reserve list for the final two weeks of the 2003 season due to a calf injury, it wasn't as severe as it sounded.

"My calf was just going to take about two weeks to heal and we only had two weeks left in the season," Reese said. "That's why I was placed on Injured Reserve. If I had another week in the season I would have been able to come back."

There is never a good time for any athlete to get hurt, but for Reese, this was bad timing. He earned a starting position, starting his first game of the year at free safety vs. Cincinnati, Oct. 5, only to sit out the last two weeks of his season.

"It's tough, anytime you have an injury, especially for me coming into the season. I worked my way up into the starting position," Reese said. "You feel like you let your team down."

Reese was injured during the game against Tennessee, Dec. 14. At that point the Bills were 6-7. It was a critical time in their season where they could have gone either way.

I hope we find an upgrade after June 1.
