    Bills Sign McFarland

The Bills today announced that the team has signed offensive tackle Dylan McFarland, the team's first of two seventh-round selections in the 2004 NFL Draft and the 207th player taken overall. In accordance with club policy, terms were not disclosed.

A steadfast component of Montana's productive offensive system, McFarland was named to several All-American teams in 2003 and was an Associated Press first-team All-American following his junior season in 2002. In 2003, McFarland helped Montana finish 18th in the country in scoring at 31.5 points a game.

McFarland becomes the second of the Bills six 2004 draft picks to sign with the team, joining TE Tim Euhus as the only other.

there is no such thing as a 7th round "flop"

who actually has high expectations for a 7th round pick.. hell, as a 7th rounder, you should be a long shot to make the team in your first year.

The difference is that McNally selected McFarland whereas Vinklarek selected Pucillo.

That's a very good point. As far as McFarland being a 7th round flop, yes that is possible. It's just that more 7th rounders are expected to be flops than say 3rd rounders.

                            Oh, I know. A 7th rounder can't be called a bust.
