and it's not the Raider or Ram franchises, what should their nickname be?

I think the Stars would be a good one. Get it? The L.A. Stars? I think that would be kinda cool.

Los Angeles Thieves, Bandits, or something along those lines. Afterall, they will be stealing either the Vikings or Colts, and the name is apropos for the area anyway. And this is coming from an avid Lakers, Dodgers and LA Kings fan.

I don't understand what the **** makes the NFL believe that an LA team would be successful. Personally, I hope the Minnesota Vikings go there and they suck terribly and are NOT successful. :shakeno:

Success to the owners is measured by hot fat their pockets and bank accounts get. L.A. being the 2nd biggest market in the US, behind NY, is the reason they think that. Whether or not the team is successful is a whole different story.

it's not just that...they aren't going to sell out every game. I guarantee that. LA fans have so much other things that can do. Also, doesn't the television stations prefer no LA team? Currently, they can watch the best games each week and not have to worry about a home team, plus they get the doubleheader all the time. If a team comes to LA, that might change.

I see your point, but if they could have their own pro team, I'm sure they would prefer that. But, who knows?

Well, when the Rams and Raiders were there, they didn't prefer them, thats for sure. I find it funny that within ten years of leaving L.A., both teams have been to the SuperBowl a combined three times and one has won it. :lolhit: Why not throw one of the New York teams to L.A.? It makes sense to me. Why take a team away like the Vikings or Colts who only have one team to cheer for while New York has the Giants, Jets and Bills? I say toss the Jets aside but I doubt that ever happens.
