Daimon Shelton spent last season sitting by the telephone, waiting for a call that never came.
The veteran fullback was out of football in 2003 after being released by the Chicago Bears at the end of training camp last summer. After six years in the National Football League, Shelton was unemployed with no job offer on the horizon.
