Running to the ball and hustle are two requirements of a Mike Mularkey-coached football team.

So is a new drill instituted this season by the new head coach. Mularkey completed his second mini-camp as Bills head coach Thursday at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

After each play, the offense and defense runs a lap. It's something Mularkey uses as both a conditioning and disciplining tool.

"What I told them was that we're going to do that once in awhile in our team period," he said. "When they go to the whistle, it's the best way to get them in condition both physically and mentally."

Mularkey is attempting to bring simulated game conditions to each and every practice. During Thursday's session, there were officials to monitor the progress of the players, particularly in the penalty department.

It's not a shot at the article, but at the large thriving media machine known as the Tonawanda News.
It's informative, though short. I liked it.
