A type of IQ test. I believe the ones taken by prospective NFL draftees contain 50 questions that test various cognitive skills, and must be completed in 12 minutes.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

Geez Ghost. Are all the questions that easy? How could someone not get a 50 on that exam?

You'd be shocked at how dense some people are.

Plus, that 12 minutes doesn't give you a whole lot of time. 15 seconds per question can be a bit tight, especially for folks who don't test well under pressure.
Still searching for that offensive rhythm.

Is there a site where we can take the test? It would be very interesting to see what we would get on it.

To answer your question, Stampede, no, not all the questions are that easy. I think those rank as some of the easier questions on the test. Only one football player in the history of giving the Wonderlic ever scored a 50. Some questions are easy enough for many people to do in their heads. Some are difficult enough that only the most brilliant can do them in their head. That's where the 12 minute time limit comes in. If you do very many on paper, your 12 minutes disappear fast. Thus strategy becomes critical. Basically, you answer everything that you can do in your head, then go back and start doing those you need to write out.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

Personally, I think the media is going way overboard w/ all these brain type tests, and wonderlick tests to try and tell the future of what these rooks will do in their nfl careers. Who cares, lets just watch, wait, and see!!

It's not the media so much as the GM's. Yes, indeed, they do look at these scores as part of the evaluation process. But it's not the only factor, obviously. If nothing else, it gives them an idea of the guy's "coachability." That is, "How long will it take for this guy to learn the playbook?"
Someone said "What's he gonna turn out like?" Ha!
And someone else said "Never mind!"
