With Posey out, Gildon as insurance?

Outside linebacker Jeff Posey was held out of practice for a second straight week because of a sore left ankle.

With Posey iffy, I think bringing in Jason Gildon would be a great idea. We can't have too much pass rush anyway.

I doubt that Posey's sore ankle will affect him during the season but added talent is usually a good thing

I don't know Mr. Miyagi. A sore ankle does not mean a season-ending injury, especially in June. Personally I think Gildon is a shell of himself.

Is Gildon getting closer to Eddie Robinson in ability or closer to Posey?

Careful. I alluded to that point in another thread and got hammered for it :)

Gideon won't come here because it's unlikely that he'd play much unless there is a serious injury to a starter.

Also, I'm not sure paying him what he'll probably demand would be a good thing for future cap considerations.

I'd rather see a free safety added first.

NFL total access talked about Gildon recently and listed the teams in the hunt for him. Buffalo was not listed.

Gildon wouldn't be such a bad option, but I wouldn't cry the blues if we didnt get him. and we probably won't anywayz

BTW the way, since Posey is injured, does anyone think Crowell can take his starting role? Has anyone even heard anything about this guy and how he's been coming along?

The line from one Bills Drive is that Posey's problem is not serious. Any decision on Gildon has nothing to do with Posey's ankle.

Posey only turned his ankle. They have sidelined him because it is OTAs. If it was camp Coach said he prolly would still be playing. Also once more I would like to reiterate the point that we need all that cap room to sign one of our 3 2005 FA! My preferance would be Jennings or Clements.

Just a thought. Don't jump all over me. Can anyone honestly tell me they don't want Gildon on our team for any excuse/reason?
