No wonder americans don't get hockey.

Watching the game on ABC and listening to Thorn's listless, monotone, unimpassioned voice, combined with the broadcast's failure to mic the crowd made a dramatic third period seem like just another broadcast of ESPN's Wed. night hockey between Pittsburgh and Washington. Turn back over to CBC, however, that had a loud, emotional crowd mic'd and Bob Cole's passionate, emotional call of the game made you feel like you were there.

It felt like two different games.

American coverage sucks balls. No wonder Americans don't give two ****s about the game.

I agree and I usually watch CBC but I'm so sick of hearing how low the ratings in the US were so I did my part and took one for the team and watched it on ABC!

There is a significant difference between an ESPN broadcast and a CBC broadcast, CBC usually being the better of the two. Empire did a good job with the Sabres and I'd rather watch the game and listen to R.J. on Empire than anyone on ESPN. MSG Network does a good job with Davidson doing the commentary. Personally I think its a good move by ABC/ESPN to grab up Davidson during the play-offs.

last night CBC's coverage continued about an hour past ABC's.

            Sad. Just sad.

Not TO Mention ABC's camera Crew Sucks...

Game 5.. After 2nd Period They Cut off From The Stats Screen in Like less than a Second to show Erin Andrews "adjusting" herself.. then to the other guy doing the same thing..

Then In Game 6 .. Wel.... Game 6 Is Self Explanatory...

ThenIn Game 7 AS the Buzzer at the end of the Game went Off... dave Andreyachuk's Wife Jumped Outta Her Seat and What Would happen.... Her Bossom Comes Flying out the top of the shirt..... hmmm... normally a crew would cut to a different camera... but they didnt... they just threw the "Tampa Bay Lighting, 2004 Stanley Cup Winners" overlay on the screen.. then changed it... :p

I saw Game 6 on ABC...I didn't see a problem...they reviewed the non-goal 7300 times in the course of an hour...Gelinas kicked it in...what was your problem with the broadcast?

I wasn't sure how that worked.

Then how do they know how many people watch a show? Do they estimate based on the Neilsen's?
