Twenty five years ago, a random act of kindness brought a Buffalo Bill and a Special Olympian together forever.
A quarter of a century later, they were honored by the Heritage-Oak Foundation for people with disabilities.
It was back in 1979 when Bills offensive lineman Joe DeLamielleure helped 15 year old Fred Siegel of Amherst finish a one mile race as a Special Olympics volunteer.
Fred took to running after that, and four years later won the gold medal at the International Special Olympics....
