    Bills Sign Koons

The Bills today announced that the team has signed rookie free agent center Dan Koons.

Koons (6-4, 286) enters his professional career after staring 33 consecutive games for Louisville. One of the most consistent contributors for the Cardinals during his career, Koons anchored the line for a Louisville offense that ranked fifth in the nation in total offense and first in yards per rush in 2003.

The guy doesn't look like he's fresh out of college. He looks at least in his 30s.

I know he's not a true center but Sobieski's been taking snaps from center as well.f anything I hope this guy can stick on the practice squad.

Pat Williams worked out pretty well for us...as did Keion Carpenter and Billy Conaty to name a few.

I think we had some hope for Kurt Sigler, another undrafted FA, but that didn't work out.

I wonder why we don't take a look at Nick Romeo, a 4 year starter at center for Syracuse, and a guy who was rated as high as 7th or 8th among center prospects by some draft guides. He was ranked higher than both Sigler and Koons in every guide that I saw.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

If he is avaialble then Bills don't think that highly of him if they brought in someone else.
