Is there a rule in the NFL about using crutches?

Shipp will be the starter no later then week 3 mark my words. Emmitt's better days are stuck in the 1990's.

Doesn't make sense to name a starter in mini-camp. What you see out of Emmitt in mini-camp won't be what you see in week 8. He is too run down to be an everyday player...Maybe Green is trying to light a fire under Shipp.

of course it does.the Cards need to make any kind of news to help sell tickets.they'll talk him up in Training Camp and use him sparingly in Preseason.just because he's been named the starter doesn't mean that he'll get most of the carries.

I think you hit the nail on the head.

I know this sounds crazy, but I think w/ a good line, good blocking fb, and some confidence shown from the coaching staff, Emmit can still put up some okay numbers. He is still the all time rushing leader. Give him the ball, and then lets call him washed up...

I agree. Shipp's actually a decent back. Maybe he came to camp a little out of shape or something along those lines.

I like Green but a move like this bring him down a notch imo.

Green is an idiot. All he cares about is airing the ball out and ignoring the rest of the parts of the team.

You hit the nail on the head. When your team sucks that bad you need an attraction to sell tickets. Emmitt is Arizona's "bearded lady".

No way he will get more carries then Shipp. If he does then Green has been smoking too much crack on his time off.

I think Shipp could be a force if given the chance in the right situation.
