Michael Felger, of the Boston Herald, reports some New England Patriots players were dissatisfied at the below-market contract extension signed by teammate LB Tedy Bruschi last week. Bruschi, who signed a four-year, $8.1 million deal, will now average $2 million a year. The NFL "transition" number (the average of the 10 highest-paid players at the linebacker position) is just over $4 million. Bruschi admitted in a radio interview that he probably could have received more in free agency, but it was more important to him to remain in New England.
You don't see this that often. I loved when Moulds stayed with us for less money but you don't see it that often these days. It is nice to see, even if he is a Patriot.
