I see this one a lot!

X team is 6-0 (or whatever) when running the ball x amount of times.

Don't you think the # of runs has a little to do with holding on to a lead and clock management?

Absolutely. If you have the lead you are going to run the ball more, and if you throw a lot, it probably means you are playing from behind. It is a very misleading stat.

as is pass defense/ run defense. for instance, the year before last we had one of the best pass defenses in the league. why is this?? because no teams had to pass the ball against us because they could get 6 yards a carry. our defense was one of the worst in the league.

also our turnover/sack flaw i tihnk is misleading too because if our defense can be one of the elite without INT's or sacks, than what do they matter??
