Thorton is playing in Switzerland next season if there is no NHL season. But he has no NHL contract right now. He's a restricted FA.

The Sabres can prove they are serious about improvingby making him an offer. That would give the fans something to get excited about.

Even if he doesn't sign with the Sabres, it shows fans that the Sabres are trying to improve. Unfortunately, there will be alot of teams interested in one of the best NHL players available.

i do not think that the bruins would want to match an offer cuz thorton wants to go somewhere that he can win and i don't mean the Sabres i mean someone like a big name
