View Full Version : Drafting Order For The 2004 High Rollers League

BillsFever
07-12-2004, 09:39 PM
This is based on where you finished last year. Halbert will pick first since he won the league. The teams without returning owners will fall back to the bottom of the draft after I get the word.

Only 1 team has gotten the boot and that was BillsOwnAll for lack of participation.

This is the current order if everyone else stays except for the ones currently not returning.

The entry fee will be 10k this year.

1- Halbert- Returning
2- BillsFever- Returning
3- Romes- No word yet
4- Sabre Ally- Returning
5- Mike- Returning
6- Typo- No word yet
7- Gunzlingr- Returning
8- Mr. Miyagi- Returning
9- LOG- Returning
10- AssClown- New Owner
11- Patrick- New Owner
12- BAM- New Owner

Can I take the open spot?

Sorry dude I got the last spot last night :D

Some previous owners haven't given me a yes or no yet. If one doesn't return you'll be 1st on the list, kardshark.

I'll need to see my roster!

It'll be fun beating the hell out of you guys.

I'd be interested in taking a spot, too. I assume when a new owner takes over, he gets a roster from last year. If multiple people leave, how do you decide who gets which roster?

How am I drafting 9th? I thought I sucked last year.

Halbert

I could have sworn I already confirmed I'd be in. Ah well, I'm in.

How can we see our rosters? I had 13 teams last year, I have no idea who was on it.

Gunzlingr

I am in, and as with Halbert, I have no idea who I had last year.

You give up your first pick to keep a guy, right?

Just say you're gonna keep Priest Holmes. That's what I did with LT.

I just found this post of mine from 1/4/04:

This seems to clearly indicate I had those two on my team. I'm pretty sure I drafted first in that league and would definitely have taken LT, which only seems to confirm I had him.

So if we're still doing that I'd keep LT. I'd also make a motion we dock Log a draft pick since he tried to snake my LT away. You bastard.

Seriously, if we can't find last years rosters we should bag the keeper idea, imo.

I'll play! I keep forgetting to check this forum. I guess it is that time of year now though, eh?

I just sent Yahoo a message asking if it was possible to see last years rosters. I seriously doubt it but can't hurt to ask. Anybody know what the ID number of that league was in case they ask?

Halbert
07-15-2004, 12:44 PM
That was fast.

From Yahoo:

Unfortunately, team and league information from the 2003 Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football Game can no longer be accessed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

I figured everybody would remember the best player on their team but I guess not.

Since everyone isn't sure of who they had and others have tried to lie(LOG :madcurse: we will have to scrap the keeper idea this year.

This is the drafting order though as of right now. If a couple of the teams that has given no verification yet doesn't return then it will change.

You finished 11th in the league but we have 2 previous owners not returning so their new owners will automatically fall down to the bottom of the drafting order.

I still haven't gotten word on Romes or Typ0 yet. If one of them shall bolt then everyone else behind them will move up a position.

Since this isn't a keeper league, then the draft order should be re drawn randomly

No it's still fair to draft in reverse order of finish.

I wasn't going to keep anyone anyway so cool.

We tried to do that and it failed. So we did a live draft.

Your drafting position should be determined on how well you do. Doing it the other way will leave some people tanking games for a higher draft position.

Finish better this year and you will draft better next year. :D

You finish last you should pick first just like the NFL.

Well, it's your league, I'm not going to quit because I disagree with your draft order, but I do think it's messed up. If it was a keeper league, I might agree, but since it's not going to be, I think it should be reverse order for this season.

Although this was an old post by BillsFever. I don't mind, because I'd be #5 either way. :D

The draft will be opposite of what you finished in the league. Skinny Pansies would be 12th and BOA would be 1st if all members came back.

Michael82
07-19-2004, 02:36 PM
However, I do feel that the 3 new teams should draft last. So, the 9 old teams should be based on their record or whatever way BF wants, but the last 3 should draft at the end of the first round. :D

I agree. If this is supposed to be a keeper league then this is the way the draft should go.

It was supposed to be but a few owners didn't remember their rosters or couldn't be truthful on it.

This year I'm gonna make a list of the rosters for next year so there is no confusion.

The only other way I'd do the draft is to let the finishing order have first dibs on what position they want in the draft.

For example...

Halbert would get first dibs on his drafting position and so on.

Halbert
07-19-2004, 05:03 PM
Oooh, that's a good idea. I'll take fourth.

I would prefer reverse order of finishes like the NFL.

But I really don't care either way.
