Let's get the debate started. :movie:

Does anyone dare say it's not Jimbo? :D

Everyone has to agree, at least on this board....JIM KELLY, the leader and orchestrator of the greatest offense in NFL history, the K-Gun

I have to go with Jim Kelly, but there are a bunch of great #12s, Namath, Bradshaw, Staubach, Griese, Brodie, etc.

I agree, it is a popular one, but we all have to pick Jimbo...just because.

Jim, although his stats are great, had a quality that statistics can't measure. People followed him whether they liked him or not. That's what makes sports so great. Statistics can't tell the story. I work with stats often in my field; maybe that's why I'm so impressed with atheletics. Guy's like Jim didn't have to have a big game to have a big impact. As the cliche' goes; "You can't measure a man's heart."

That's a gutsy pick. I still will pick Kelly. If I weren't a Bills fan...I'd pick either Bradshaw or Joe Namath.

You would honestly take Kelly over Bradshaw if you had to choose between the two?

I'd put a young healthy Namath ahead of Kelly.

He was 75-24-1 as Raider's QB

No way Namath was better than Kelly.

I never liked Joe Namath. I don't care how good of a quarterback he was. And, I totally forgot Terry Bradshaw even played football. He's been a commentator for so long, that's just how I see him now.

I'd have to agree with Wolffman, I'd say Bradshaw over Kelly, but not by much. :tomato: :ontome:

No Roger Staubach?

Bradshaw was not better than Kelly. Bradshaw is very overated.

Barely completed 50 % of his career passes only 2 more TD's than Ints. average just under 2000 yards a season.

Go ahead and come with stats don't mean everything. They mean a lot. The steelers won thier Super Bowls because of a dominating D. Not because of Bradshaw.

a lot of QB's could have put up these stats and won with that Steeler D of the 70's

14 yrs 3,901 attempts 2,025 completions 51.9%, 27,975 yds, 7.2 ypa, 212 TDs, 210 ints.

To be honest with you, I forgot what number he wore. I was thinking about him but wasn't sure about the number. He was before my time. Danny White was the first Dallas quarterback I knew. I guess he's a legend in Dallas. My Dallas legend is Troy Aikman. But I'd give a vote to Roger!

Yep, good ol' #12. Danny White was #11, and started as their punter, while Roger was still there. Great to see another Cowboy fan.

We gotta stick together, Slruh. They'll kill us here. :oj: lol

I vaguely remember that Danny White started out as the punter. Like I said, I really only remember watching him as quarterback in the early 80's when I first started watching football.

I was always a Cowboys fan, then Buffalo moved training camp to my hometown in the 80's, so I started liking the Bills too. Another #12 I saw a lot then was Ferguson.

Other than Jimbo, of course, I would say Terry Bradshaw.

It's a great place to grow up. I remember chasing Ferguson as he tried to scamper out the back door of Dods Hall after practice.

How can anyone pick a guy (Bradshaw) who would fight with his neighbor our jump in the lake for a buck? Just kidding. Remember those commercials he did for one of those100-10 long distance companies?

Bradshaw and Jimbo are both worth picks.

Bradshaw and Flutie did the one I remember. "Sushi? Back home we call that bait." LOL, and it sounds like he says Suchi

Bob Griese :ontome: :homer:

That is a tough call. Kelly, Staubach, Griese, Bradshaw are all great and worthy picks. Anyone form the Raiders I automatically disqualify

Perhaps this would be easier for you guys if you exclude former Bills players. Players such as Thomas, Kelly, Smith, and others who might make you guys biased. Perhaps best players other than Bills players to where # 12? It might make it easier for you guys.

I'm with Dozer. Namath in his prime, when he had knees, was the best quarterback I have ever seen.

A popular number...without doubt

1. Staubach-Always had good teams around him but never great teams
2. Kelly-if he had won the "big one" would have been #1
3. Stabler-took over big games
