Mike Mularkey's new offensive system is in the works in Orchard Park and everyone will be a bit more involved. The fullback will have a prominent role, paving the way for the new power running game featuring Travis Henry.

"The fullback is the key to our running game and our attack," Mularkey said. "He's responsible for setting the entire play in motion and making crucial blocks."

With the loss of fullback Sam Gash to the New Orleans Saint this off-season, the Bills are looking to solidify a replacement. Gash was highly regarded as one of the best blocking backs in the league. Though Gash may be difficult to replace, the team has some players in the wings ready to step it up.

The Bills currently have two fullbacks on their roster, Daimon Shelton and Luke Lawton.

Shelton is entering his seventh season and has previously played for the Jaguars and Bears. He did not play football in 2003 and the Bills signed him to a contract this past January. He has started 43 games in his career and has appeared in 44 others. He has great size at 242 pounds and could also be effective in pass blocking as well.
