When MNF fell on a holiday, or interfered with the college Bowl Games, they have usually moved it to a Thursday or dumped it. Many times they make up for it by adding a game somewhere else to the season- like in week 1 they might do both a Thursday and then a Monday night game.

I think they did it last year as well and replaced MNF from the last week of the year with a Thursday night game to open the season.Comment
