he Buffalo Bills continue to stockpile veterans with playoff experience on defense, officially signing free agent linebacker Jason Gildon.

If Gildon, who turns 32 next week, has anything left to contribute and how well he fits in with a unit already laden with age in Sam Adams, Lawyer Milloy and Troy Vincent, will be determined in training camp, which starts one week from Saturday at St. John Fisher College.

“I still feel that I have a lot of football to play,” said Gildon, who had just six sacks last season.

He is the Steelers' all-time sack leader with 77 rushing from the edge. The Bills are desperate to improve their pass rush and create turnovers — they have finished last in the National Football League in that department two years running.

After Gildon was dumped onto the free agent market after June 1 when most of the big money had been spent by NFL teams, agent Peter Schaffer could not get a deal that topped the $2 million-per-season mark.
