i would normally agree but i heard or read somehwere that he was actually hurt most of last year and he should be much better this year. he had like a bad shoulder or something...throws off your balance and timing.

If you add up all the games that individuals supposedly cost us, we lost about 150 games last season. (Lindell cost us 2, Bledsoe cost us 4, GW cost us 4, Pucillo cost us 2, Brown cost us 1, etc.).

Lindell will miss two kicks in crucial situations that will directly lead to losses.

better? :D

No. That's only about 10 seconds of the entire 60 minute game.

So you have faith that Lindell will make clutch kicks this year?

No I don't.

However, I don't think that you can blame a loss on a single kick. Why were the Bills kicking a field goal instead of celebrating the TD? Why were they kicking a 45-yarder instead of 30-yarder?

how can lindell not be a better kicker though.. he has dedicated himself to kicking his whole life.. i read he is dedicated 100%.. and since all that is required to be successful is work ethic.. there is no way he isnt the best kicker in the league this year.

right?

BUT if you don't count the kicks he made, then he missed every one.

we are not talking about math.. which is something that can be taught much easier that having the instinct to make a juke that drops a LB to his knees..

dont try and twist this around..

my point is about sports..

you can work your tail off and it will definately improve your game.. but i dont care how dedicated you are and how hard you work.. most people will not be in the nfl.. period..

why arent any women in the nfl.. there has never been a woman that has worked hard enough and dedicated her self enough?

sure.

How many girls do you know of that play football from the ages of 12-22? There have been females that have played in PGA tour events.

Yes, I do believe that is what it is.

Female sprinters run fast enough to be among the top 1000 men or so. Olympic level female weight lifters are strong enough to be among the top 1000 men or so. There's 1700 or so players in the NFL each year, I do think that if women dedicated themselves, they'd be there.

What is with this Lindell bashing? When we signed him to replace Christie and Shayne Graham two years ago, everyone was estatic. We were so happy to have his strength to make the kickoffs, his accuracy, etc.

I guess the grass is always greener somewhere else huh?

We signed Mike Hollis to replace Shayne Graham, Christie, et al. We signed Lindell to replace Mike Hollis.

Btw, Shayne Graham was one of the best K's in the NFL last year.

If the offense does indeed focus on the running game to compliment a strong defense, field goals suddenly become crucial. Successful teams that rely on that style always have an outstanding kicker (Stover, Mare, Akers, Gramatica). Lindell has not demonstrated that he is in their class, at least when it comes to field goals beyond 40 yards. He will really need to step it up and hit a higher percentage of the longer ones. This is one of my biggest concerns.

Agreed, we shouldn't have to depend on a subpar kicker to win games for us. We should be able to win with our offense during the first 3.75 quarters.

With 2?

That's not an overwhelming statistic ... that's like saying someone led the league in safeties so they must be able to bring the pass rush at key times.

Wasn't Lindel saying that he would love an oportunity to be able to kick a clutch field goal? Well I know it wasn't a field goal attempt to WIN the game today, but come on, how the hell does someone say that crap and miss a 28 yrd field goal that would have put us up by 4 and gave offense and defense an extra boost of energy? All the energy that we had was gone in an instant. We drive over 80 yrds and he misses a 28 yrd fiedl goal? I have saud it all freakin' year, Lindel sucks! I used to think he was money inside 35, but that went out the window. He had better not be wearing a Bills uniform next year.

WRONG!!! If he makes that, the very next play is not a huge run by Pittsburgh which set up a FG for them. Instead we are kicking off and the game is totally different.

Why not? That huge run could've been the first play of their next possession after the kickoff. Our D screwed that play up. As much as we need to blame it on Drew and Lindell, more than them alone lost that game. Big Pat face mask, Evans fault start, Clements fumble...etc.

Mahdi
01-02-2005, 03:50 PM
That missed FG was HUGE!!! we ate all that time off the clock and got nothing out of it. Not to mention the momentum you're giving up. Missing a 28 yd. FG after a long drive considering what was on the line and how close the game was is deflating for a team.
