Why does everyone always talk crap about the Jets every preseason?

They made the playoffs 2 years ago and probably would've made another run at them last year if Pennington wouldn't have missed half of the season.

They are not great but you can't just write them off like an old pair of socks. If CP stays healthy they will go at least 8-8.

I just have serious doubts about the Jets D.

I mean first off they have a first time DC in Henderson who is bringing in a complex scheme using both 4-3 and 3-4 formations.
Not to mention they are going to have something like 4 or 5 brand new starters most of whom are very young and inexperienced.

I do like their DEs but that's really about it.

Their DTs got pushed around last year and probably will get pushed around again this year.

Barton was nice pickup at LB but Cowart has been on the decline, Hobson is just a first year starter, and Vilma is only a rookie. How good our those LBs going to be this year? I think they are going to have their struggles.

And their secondary is pretty weak as well. I mean Abraham, Barrett, McGraw, and Tongue. The group may be better than what they had but they still are not that good. If they would have signed Winfield and Lynch, it would have been a different story, but Barrett and Tongue are nothing special.

Overall, I just think their defense is going to have its share of struggles this year.

I'm not sold on him. He has been in the league 4 years now and has had one good season. This year is his year to prove that he's the man. Even when he played last year he didn't look so great... but I'll give him the fact that he was injured earlier in the season, not like it should matter if he's the stud everybody says he is.

I think Herm Edwards is one of the more underrated coaches in the NFL.
