I don't think invading Iraq made them want to join the WTO. I think having a 3rd world economy had a lot to do with it.

They have as much Oil as Kuwait- but they have the standard of living that would only make trailer park trash Dolphin fans jelous.

I remember watching an episode of West Wing and part of it was about how all maps are false and that the Geographic Society of America (or whatever it was called) wanted to use a new map that showed how all the countries were in proportion. Thank you. I was not referring to a continent like everybody seems to think, just a region, and Libya fits the Mid-East demographics more than it does any other.

Irregardless, the point I made was that Ghadafi (sp?) came clean when we got off our lazy arses and did something.

Libya used the Pan Am 103 multi billion dollar lawsuit to squeeze the US into letting up on their sanctions, i.e. you screw us, then the (mostly American) victims don't get the money they're legally entitled to. Once the sacntions were released, then Libya paid up earlier this year. Sorry, you got played by a playah...

If applying for WTO status was in any way related to the Iraq war, Bush would be trumpeting it so loud you'd go deaf. Anyone with reasonable intelligence understands that they'd get ripped apart if they took that stance, because once confronted with the facts, timelines, etc., you'd realize that 2+2=4, even in North Africa.
