    What happens to Miami's Cap?

Is there a signing bonus charge that gets moved up? Is his salary off the books for this year?

No signing bonus. When traded to Miami, all signing bonus was accelerated onto the Saints salary cap. Miami will save

    2004: $3.735 million
    2005: $3.74 million
    2006: $3.5 million

Plus incentives. An escalator clause takes the incentives earned and adds them to future salaries, so Miami will save more in 2005 & 2006.

Wait a minute...didn't Ricky just re-do his deal? Including receive a signing bonus? That's what they said on ESPN and now Miami might try to get the signing bonus back. Or at least $3.3 million of it.
