Smith became a man ahead of his time

Antowain Smith walked into the home of his ailing grandparents each night around midnight, his clothes covered in chemicals, his body worn out from a day of hard work.

Somewhere on the streets of Millbrook, Ala., his buddies were having a good time. Smith, fresh out of high school and his football dreams on hold, didn't care. His grandparents, the people responsible for raising him, desperately needed him.

I commend him for the love & devotion he showed his grandparents.
I didn't come here to fight, I hate fighting. Life is way too short to spend it on fighting! Go fight with yourself, one of you will eventually win!

why doesnt the media ever hype this type of story instead of the negative stories like quincy carter, kobe, etc.

its the liberal way... make americans feel like ***** so that they will think change is necessary.

why on Earth would you bring politics into it? It's always been a case of the media hyping what sells...and bad news seems to sell better than the feel good stories

Yeah, that's their idea... more Kobe Bryant on TV = Democratic party win. That's genius.

It's just the way of the US media... the most interesting story is the one that sells. Most often, that's the bad news... how often do you see good news on the front page?

I've seen many stories, mostly on pre-game network shows on Smith and his grandmother. At least 3 segments over the years. He isn't exactly in the spot light anymore.
