Chargers QB Doug Flutie undergoes knee surgery

Doug Flutie underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Thursday morning and will miss an estimated two weeks.

The 41-year-old quarterback had been bothered by soreness in his left knee and hadn't practiced since Saturday. He tried to return to the Chargers' training camp afternoon session on Wednesday, but was pulled out when the pain returned.

"That kind of stuff just doesn't happen to him," said Drew Brees, currently the starter ahead of Flutie and unsigned rookie Philip Rivers. "He's just not used to that."
