HotRod

it was said that Bledsoe was working on releasing the ball faster and to not "pat" the ball as often. Is he looking more comfortable with that?

Dozerdog
08-07-2004, 09:14 AM
OK- Right now due to some added security- there was a delay getting out of the parking lot- but the crowds are now being let in.

At the moment there is not much going on, just some warming up and routine stretching & Drills by both clubs on their respective sides of the field.

How does Bledsoe look?

Dozerdog
08-07-2004, 09:18 AM
This is how it will work- After each 10 play drive (or extended break in the action) Mike will call in and leave an update on my voicemail. I'll try to transcribe it here the best we can.

I'll call in with your questions as the paractice goes and see what he can observe.

Dozerdog,

Ask to him how Travis Henry looks today...

Dozerdog
08-07-2004, 09:31 AM
UPDATE-

They are still stretching and going through some drills- nothing of note yet taking place.

The place is packed again- like last year. I passed on the followig questions to be answered-

1) How does Bedsoe look? Taking his time in the pocket or is he speeding up the release?

2) Who starts at RB- how does Henry/McGahee look?

3) Mike Williams update-

Price, Pucillo, Jennings, Teague, Villarial are the starting linemen-

Mikey says they are stinking up the joint, and Bledsoe is getting murdered out there. He's got little time in pass protection.

Henry has all the carries in the goalline offense.

Nice pass by Brown...

Not to harp on a relatively moot point but with a QB with Bledsoe's mobility (or lack there of) and with the issues our o-line has, it's going to be next to impossible to make it to the next level.

All of the other pieces seem to be in place but the o-line/qb issues will seriously hamper our ability to excel

Hope McNally can bring it together, especially Teague's tendency's to get run over. (I've heard he's a little tall for a center).

Just my 2 cents

What did he do?

He got sacked twice and then ran it for a few yards.

If he can do it the exhibition games as well then yes. Or at least make the practice squad.

So what was the final stats for Drew? I know he got sacked once and had another play where the ball was snapped over his head but how many passed did he attempt and complete and for how many yards? Anyone know?

I think Bledsoe was like 1/3 or 2/4 and almost had a pass intercepted.

Brown outplayed him.

Bledsoe could of been playing against the 1950 All-Pro team and he still wouldnt beat them to the endzone.

All very interesting but HOLY COW! RELAX!

Camp has not even been open a WEEK!

THIS MEANS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!!!

As a gambler I can tell you 2 things for sure....

1- Preseason games mean NOTHING WHATSOEVER when it comes to regular season records.....

and

2- scrimmages at the end of week 1 of camp mean even less if that's possible.....

don't throw in the towel before we even start training for the fight... jeez.

You know me, its always a comparison, I personally think Bledsoe is not the answer and will hold this team back this season, but thats my opinion, lots of optimistic and I pray nightly that you guys are right but I have questions about him and about alot of the other parts of this team, Im not gonna put on rose colored glasses for this team we still have lots of holes.

08-07-2004, 11:37 AM
SO we should start Losman?

you think we have abetter chance with a raw rookie? why? because he can run faster?

He couldn't run fast enough to avoid those first 2 sacks.

Nr.1 Did you watch the scrimmage? I didnt so no I dont know if he could of avoided it of if he could of not because of piss poor line blocking, Im willing to bet on blocking though bc it appeared to be a reoccuring theme throughout the scrimmage.

To answer your 1st question, yes I would prefer to start Losman this year bc we have holes as is so why not try him out now and give him the reins. Bledsoe to me is like an achor weighing the team down. Granted I think this team is a borderline playoff team (9-7ish record) with big holes at OL, DL, FS, CB, and QB. With Bledsoe as our starter who is gonna be our backup Losman or Brown, to be honest Im not comfortable with Brown, and Losman still has lots to prove. Im willing to give him the reins but not many others are. Im not gonna be naive about him and say he's the next big thing bc he's been irradic in camp and avg in this scrimmage. Although I think he has all the tools to be a pro bowl QB. Just my 2 cents though.

Also I agree with BAM and FTG the best news is no injury news and Willis tearing it up!

what was the final score?

DraftBoy
08-07-2004, 12:52 PM
Well really there is no score, but technically it was 3-0 us. In other words 3 TD's to none.

Tatonka
08-07-2004, 01:06 PM
how is it 3-0? willis got 3 and francis got 1.. right?

ScottLawrence
08-07-2004, 01:11 PM
No.

Each team got 12 plays to try and go down field and score, and then after the 12 plays were up each team got 3 chances to score from the goal line.

McGahee scored 3 times from the Goal line and one time from the 12 plays.

McGahee ran it in one time.

Francis recovered a fumbled a returned it for a TD.

And Losman ran one in for a TD.
