Evans catches bomb
Lee Evans' mom, dad and two sisters were proudly sporting No. 83 Bills jerseys Saturday. They made the trip from their Cleveland-area home and were not disappointed.
The Bills' first-round draft choice caught a 50-yard pass from Travis Brown after the first snap of the Bills' second set of plays. Evans beat Browns starting cornerback Robert Griffith down the right side of the field and was hauled down at the Browns' 15.
"We had been running the ball pretty well," Evans said. "The safeties came up and bit, and I was able to spring deep. It was more of a straight go route. I tried to take it where the defense isn't.
