Miami Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga is angry and he wants retired running back Ricky Williams to repay more than $5 million in incentives the team paid him over the past two seasons, according to a report in the Miami Herald.

The newspaper, citing an unnamed source close to Huizenga, said he is "incredibly (angry) about what Ricky did. He has his lawyers together and he is going to go after all the money the team paid Ricky. He wants to make sure this never happens again." Huizenga could not be reached for comment.

Williams rushed for 3,225 yards in two seasons with the Dolphins.

According to the Herald, the Dolphins, under the terms of the revised contract Williams signed before the 2002 season, can recoup any of the incentives he earned if he retired or held out at any time.

Williams reportedly earned $5.3 million in incentives from the team during the past two seasons.

He also took a cavalier attitude towards the possibility of the Dolphins coming after his money.

Before Williams officially retired by filling out paperwork with the NFL, Williams reportedly talked about filing for bankruptcy, and forcing the team to pursue the money in court. He also reportedly said coming after a man with three children might be embarrassing to the team.

They'll never see that money. I'm sure Ricky has already moved the money out of any US banks he might have had it in.

That is, if he hasn't smoked it all away. . .

All of this presupposes that NFL contracts can actually be enforced.
