Some can make arguments on why you would pay an extra $30 for Madden, but if you pay an extra $30 for the EA Sports version you are insane. The ESPN hockey from last year blew EA Sports away. I have both games and I haven't played NHL 2004 since I got the ESPN.

I do agree with that statement. EA hockey blows. That heartbeat thing from a couple years ago was a joke.

I didn't understand this post until I read about the "ice girls". That explains it.;)

i dont get how EA Got an ESPN Presentation Engine,

Considering ESPN Makes their Own NHL Game..

This will be Interesting Fight For Best Hockey Game..

I'd Like to See NHL 2005 On XBOX Live.. that'll be Dope..

Xbox Live 3.0 Features... So you can Have a Team/Clan Prefix..

i Can See it now... Team Sabres Zone... or Team Skate Zilla Rather..

heh...
I Wonder If EA Went Totoally SIM this Year or If They Still have an ARCADE STYLE play...

I never played the ESPN version but I am in love with the EA computer version of NHL 2004...

Maybe I'll buy both and compare!

I like the ESPN NHL hockey, but I actually liked playing NHL 2004 way better. I know I am one out of very few, but I will pay more $$ for NHL 2005.

Since a great deal of people are PC-only gamers, it's quite understandable that EA maintains a larger grip on sales of their sports games. That, and the fact that not too many are open-minded enough to try Sega's sports games. I disagree with what was said previously:

Sega's hockey game wasn't just better last year, it's been above EA's for years. EA made huge steps last season (Thankfully), but notice that their development team was Black Box---The team that started off Sega's NHL2K series. :peace:

Tru Tru...

Sega's Game is More About Simming.. more strategy than just holding the slap shot button at the blue line..

ESPN NHL 2K4 Was A great Game if You Consider KUSH Games Only Had 50% of the Development Cycle to Complete It... Thats Pretty Good.. Now Lets See what This Year's Version looks like now that they've had a Full cycle to develope..

the ditties are now importable on the xbox... and ps2 if you have a Hdd addon..

cleaner textures... jumbo tron sequnces.. ice girls and more!!!!..

what does EA Have?? Dany Heatley Saying "EA SPORTS ITS IN THE GAME".. with missing teeth.

I Do Remember FOX Sports Hockey Games Out Sold The EA Sports Games...

I am highly looking forward to customizing each and every arena's goal song, break in the action music, etc. I will do it for each arena. I sincerely hope, though, that they got the goal horns correct this year. They improved from NHL2K3 to 2K4, but I hope they got all of them right this year.
