What the players think about Smith...

Lawrence Smith is a big question mark to most of us. Even though he is regarded as better then Pucillo that is just because he isn't Pucillo. Well, I thought I'd gaher some quotes other players and coaches had on Smith. So, far this seems good. No ones claiming he is a pro bowler but this could be the start of something pretty solid.

The guy is really strong, and one of his assets is that guys don't push him back," said center Trey Teague. "He's plenty strong to play that position."
Said assistant line coach Frank Verducci: "A lot of guys can anchor, but it's the ability that once your anchor gets compromised, to reset yourself. He has incredible balance, top level balance, as far as when he gets tipped one way or another, he can recover, reset his hands and re-anchor."
Mularkey said. "He has pass blocked well. One on one, he's done very well, and in the game he's graded out a winning grade. He's stout inside."
Sounds like exactly what we need someone who is strong enough not to get bowled over and can pass block well.

I'd settle for a limestone. Pucillo is nothing but a piece of shale.

He had to earn his stripes, so to speak. Pukecillo was with the team and worked hard in the off-season, so the Bills thought he should be rewarded with a starting job. It was up to him to play himself out of that job, and he did just that.

Couldn't agree more...the team did emphasize that Puke worked his balls off this offseason.....so he did deserve a shot.

Kudos to whoever is making the oline decisions on giving Smith his shot...can't hurt at this point.

By the way, Sullivan should be cut for being too much of a puss to win the job hands down....the guy had tons of talent.....too bad.

I have seen women walk right past a TV set with a football game on and - this always amazes me - not stop to watch, even if the TV is showing replays of what we call a "good hit," which is a tackle that causes at least one major internal organ to actually fly out of a player's body. ~Dave Barry
