    Clump's 53 man roster and Practice Squad(UPDATED 8/30)

Here is my early prediction on the 53 man roster and practice squad based upon my observations thus far. Now that the Colts game is over (thankfully), I'll make a few changes.

Released last week: WR Bonner, WR Coleman, LB Francis, DE Spicer, RB Mitchell, and C Koons

No real surprise there. I wouldn't doubt that Koons ends up on the PS

    Offense

QB: Bledsoe, (acquired vet QB), Losman*
    RB: Henry, McGahee, Simonton
    FB: Shelton, Burns
WR: Moulds, Evans, Reed, Shaw, Aiken
    TE: Campbell, Neufeld, Euhus
OL(ST): Jennings, Tucker, Teague, Villarrial, M. Williams
    OL(Res): Sullivan, Sobieski, L. Smith, M. Price
    K: Lindell

    Offense total: 26

    Defense

    LDE: Kelsay, Denney
    LDT: Adams, Edwards
    RDT: P. Williams, Bannan, Anderson
    RDE: Schobel, McKenzie
    SOLB: Posey, Stamer
    MLB: Fletcher, Crowell
    WOLB: Spikes, Stevenson
    LCB: Vincent, K. Thomas, Greer
    SS: Milloy, Wire
    FS: Reese, Prioleau, Baker
    RCB: Clements, McGee
    P: Moorman

    LS: Dorenbas

    Defense total: 27

    Total: 53

Practice Squad: OL McFarland, OT D. Porter, RB S. Williams, FB Lawton, C Koons, DE Ritzmann, LB Towns, QB Zolman

    Cut, released, and/or waived

G Pucillo, OL Seals, G Esposito, RB Mitchell, WRs Myers, Bonner, A. Brown, Haddad, Coleman, Beard, TE Peters, TE Trafford, K Shafer, DE Spicer, DT Sape, DE/LB Gildon, LB Francis, LB Haggan, CB Lamar, CB Richardson, CB Dixon, DB Graham

    IR: QB Travis Brown

    Other notes:

McKenzie over Gildon: McKenzie can play special teams

I do believe the Bills will look for a veteran OL, but many teams are as well.

Milloy's injury saves Prioleau for now

My bubble players from the "cut, released, and/or waived" list are:

    1) DE Gildon
    2) G Pucillo
    3) DT Sape
    4) LB Haggan
    5) WR A. Brown

My bubble players from the 53 man roster are:

    1) DE McKenzie
    2) OL Sullivan
    3) CB Greer
    4) RB Burns
    5) DT Bannan

I'm thinking that the #3 QB will be Losman. It's a broken bone, not a torn ligament / tendon.

They'll most likely start the season with only two QB's active for gameday. With the early bye, they'll only have to get through 3 games like this, maybe 4 tops. JP should be ready to go in early October. It's not like he has to practice a whole lot to be the #3 guy. If it comes down to needing that #3, we're in deep doo-doo already.
Still searching for that offensive rhythm.

Could they put Losman on the PUP list? Isn't that where you can't play for the first 6 weeks and you clear the roster spot or something like that?

I think that's if your hurt prior to the start or training camp.

Do the Bills traditionally only keep 4 cornerbacks on the active roster?

I would think they'd keep Peters on the P/S.

I could see them releasing Prioleau and Burns in favor of Greer as the 5th CB and Lawton as the 2nd FB, respectively. This would open up PS spots for Peters and perhaps Koons.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

I will be watching the game and will post new 53 roster on Monday or Tuesday

I think Prioleau and Haggan are gone... and I think Greer has assured himself a spot on the 53 (barring poor performance in the next 2 games). I think McFarland, Coleman or Ritzmann would make it instead of the other. The rest of the roster looks good to me.

It wouldn't surprise me if Prioleau was cut. His cap number is rather large for a #4 or #5 safety and that makes him vulnerable. His value is on special teams and as an experienced reserve. I don't think the Bills are ready to make Baker the backup to Reese just yet.

I look forward to seeing your mid-pre-post-semi-midway portion of the halfway point of the beginning of the initial point of the start of the season roster, Clump.
