Most players that come out of High school and freshmen or sophomore year of college are not big enough, strong enough, or mature enough to deal with the NFL life. They get a free education; they should take advantage of it! I didn't play sports in college so I have college loans. Because an athlete should be concentrating on what college is the best for him to learn AND play football at. Not what college will give me more stuff to play there. We have pro sports already we don't need colleges paying athletes in any way shape or form.
Now I think they should have some type of stipend program for these athletes since most don't have the time to get a part time job. Plus many of the athletes that get the scholarships come from lower income families who can't afford the tuition let alone the money for books, cloths, food, and other misc. stuff that all college kids need.
