Very harsh treatment of Coach April even if it was in jest!

Clearly, April isn’t Jones.
But for one night — mercifully, in preseason — his units played like he was.

I normally like Chuck Pollock's articles but this one seems very critcal and he had nothing positive to say at all. Not like him at all.

I thought ST's played very well the first 2 games.

Sat was one of those snowball games when one thing after another happens wrong. I think it was just one of those games. Now the offensive line..............thats another story. I am worried about them

to have that many special teams mistakes in one game.. that is absolutely unacceptable..

there were 4 MAJOR blunders.. and we did nothing positive.

people need to remember that April was run out of St.Louis because their special teams have been horrible for a couple years.

Fred Flintstone fumbling twice is not Arpil's fault!

Chuck Pollack is a ****ing dumbass. I live 10 minutes from Olean and unfortunately am subjected to his idiotic ramblings each day (either him or the other Times Herald goon who writes about the SBU scandal in every article he's ever published) and he thinks he's Jesus Christ around here, he is worse than Morrison and the rest of those schmucks on WGR, he doesn't know anything.

HAHA, no, considering that is my line of work. I just don't like Pollack, I never have, if you read his articles everyday you would too.

there is always an excuse for everyone and everything..

i am just tired of seeing a ****ty team..

it is so hard to be optimitic about this season..

- RB controversy the first time willis takes henry's carries... henry will *****.
- we cant score on offense.
- drew is still our qb
- the oline is actually WORSE than last year.. because they have no time together.. williams has regressed even more, villarial has been unimpressive and already has an injury that will linger throughout the season. teague is still god awful and still hasnt learned to snap. smith is no better than ruben right now and has no time with the guys.. jennings cant stay healthy.. and ps.. NO DEPTH behind the ****ty starters we have now.
- we have a tough schedule and face like 7 of the top 10 rbs in the league... they are going to eat us alive.
- our rookie qb that looked so good broke his leg.. which happens to be one of his main strengths.. mobility.
- our only back up qb is gone for the season with a torn acl.
- gildon has looked slow, and doesnt seem like he is going to contribute.
- pass rush has not shown to be greatly improved by any means.

i just think we are in trouble.. i want to be optimistic.. i really do.. but the team is gonna have to show me something..

the third preseason game should be the one you judge your team on.. the 4th one is just to decide on some bubble players.. and our 3rd game was horrid.

at this point right now.. i think jacksonville should be favored to win the opener.. but if they are not.. then the will be no more than a 3 point dog, which is the amount you get just for being the home team.

this article is far too negative, but other than the 10 men on the field during the punt, I don't think you can blame April. All the coaching in the world can't make the punter hold onto the ball. And on the 84 yard return, the Bills slowed the returner down, then two players ran into each other and it took them both out of the play (I actually thought Lindell made a great tackle to save the TD).

I agree that the ST play was horrible, but regardless of the coach, the players still have to execute. Comparing him to Jones after one bad game is too harsh. Let the man coach a game that counts before you start invoking the ghosts of football's past.

Yes. I mean he has been in the league quite a while had some great special teams with Atlanta, Saints and 1-2 good years with the Rams.

Bobby April knew enough to bring in two specialist kicker coaches for preseason. To me that is a GOOD sign for it says he is willing to listen to outside ideas and knows kicking is not his specialty.

I'd like to see a kicker made special teams coach some day.

It's friggin' preseason.

I am not worried about the Special teams individual blunders in preseason. Smith will most likely not make this team, so there's a fix for 1/2 the problem. The blocked punt was due to only 10 men on the field - Mooreman won't let that happen in the real games (especially after this wake up call). On top of all that, this is the time when coaches experiment with new schemes and player combinations.

Compare with last year when we had Brown returning kicks for TD's. Look how well that transitioned into the real season.

Tatonka, man, you need a cold shower. Just keep in mind that Marv Levy pretty much lost all his preseason games during the Superbowl years.

Overall, I've been pretty happy with most of what I've seen, despite the lack of point production. As is everyone, I'm concerned about the O-Line, but what can you do. They need time together. FA's are not the answer at this stage. I'm sure the local restaurants are pulling for Buffalo to re-sign Jamie Nails, but I doubt that TD cares. Beyond the O-Line, I'm curious about the WR position depth chart (Evans, in particular), but not worried about it. The D-Line has been playing fairly well considering they aren't doing anything fancy.

it has nothing to do with winning or losing games..

it has everything to do with how we look.. the cohesion of the line.. the rhythm of the qb and the wrs.. the blocking.. discipline..

and i could care less about the scrubs.. i am not talking about 3rd and 4th quarter guys here..

if you guys think that the crap we watched this preseason means nothing because it is preseason.. then your going to be in for a rude awakening when jacksonville hands us our ass.

just my 2 cents..

I agree with you. The Bills have looked sloppy and uncoordinated. This is a bad sign.
