ESPN story on the QB situation

Teetering on the brink of potential disaster at the backup quarterback spot, the Buffalo Bills got some relatively good news Monday when an MRI exam indicated Travis Brown did not tear the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee, as originally feared.

    Brown out only 4-6 weeks

The knee is a sprain and not a tear. He is out only 4-6 weeks...

Yep. Looks like radio report was wrong or just speculation!

Good news for Brown; bad news for Bills front office who now need to decide if they need to keep two positions open for inactive QBs. Somebody will be losing their spot on active roster due to this.

Shane Matthews is the best QB left on the garbage pile. He'd be a good stop gap for the 4-6 weeks that Brown would be out.

Now can we find a LG after the cuts?

I could deal with Shane Matthews as #2 for a month.

              :)

Im really hoping Middleton from the Raiders is cut. If we did sign him I think we would have a very good offensive line.
You're right, I am a coward! I haven't any courage at all. I even scare myself.

can they put Losman on the practice squad until he is ready to play, in order to keep a roster spot open?

No. To go on the PS you must clear waivers.

Shane Matthews blows chunks. I remember watching him play as a Bear and every play was a handoff. When he did throw, the entire team collectively held their breath and wished for the best.

And when they exhaled, they usually blew him over and he ended up out 4-6 weeks.

Matthews should be sufficient as a back-up quarterback. Not a world beater to be sure, but he is an experienced NFL reserve quarterback.
