Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, citing an ESPN report, reports former Miami Dolphins RB Ricky Williams may file bankruptcy in hope of avoiding repaying the Dolphins $8.6 million the team is trying to recoup from him due to his retirement. The Dolphins sent Williams a letter that he needed to report by Monday, Aug. 30, or they would begin the process of recouping the money. Williams, of course, did not report to the team.

OMFG if this is true Ricky Williams really is a scumbag. I hate the Dolphins as much as anyone but come on...lol. :trance:

Come on. Can he really do that? That system needs to be revamped if so.

no, I believe that your debts must outweight your assets and you have to show that you have no reasonable way to pay back your debts.

Eb is right. Throw in all his debts with an 8 million dollar payback and his debts very well could outweigh his assets. Maybe he spent all his money on some real good smokey smokey :jj:
Not sure it would work regarding taxes. He may of received all that money in bonuses but Uncle Sam took a huge chunk of that in taxes. Throw in a lavish lifestyle and his habits and he could easily have more debt than assets. Then again most of america have more debt than assets...

In case there was any doubt that this guy is a no-account dirtball, this should clear that up. He's really not much different from Mike Tyson.
