For the Kansas City Chiefs, it was a very good bye.

While getting everyone healthy and refreshed during their week off, the Chiefs had the added pleasure of moving up in the AFC West standings when Oakland and San Diego lost.

Play him, Saburz. If you put him on the bench like I did with Antowain Smith he'll kill us.

Chiefs are perilously close to overusing Holmes

How much can halfback Priest Holmes have left in his tank for the season's second half?

Holmes, who at 210 pounds isn't as big as most heavy-duty backs, is on pace for almost 500 touches, counting carries and receptions. That's a workload that could easily wear down the toughest of backs.

I don't think it'll be a factor. The law of averages suggests that somewhere in there it'll slow down for one reason or another. Emmitt had a similar pace for several seasons w/ fewer recpts. however.

The rushing touches are obviously a little tougher than the recvg. ones. It'll be interesting to see how it goes however.

Talk about putting all your eggs in one basket. Holmes is their Drew.

So you are the one that did it. :shakeno:

You know thats kind of like me not wearing my crusty, stained, and wilted Bills hat during a game. Keep it on straight when we are on O, and flip it around when we are on D.

You know Ally, there are some things you just don't do. :)

49ers vs. Chiefs: Three keys to the game

1 Line dance. The Chiefs have arguably the league's best offensive line, with veteran left tackle Willie Roaf being the biggest name. They can wear down an opposing defense, plowing ahead with Priest Holmes and making it hard for teams to pressure quarterback Trent Green.

In their last three games, the Chiefs scored 34 points against Denver, 34 against San Diego and 48 against Miami. The 49ers defensive line is much-improved, but this will be its toughest test yet.

Event Watch: Priest will pay a visit to 49ers

It's fitting that Sundays are Priest's day.

Today, the host 49ers will attempt to stop the Kansas City Chiefs' Priest Holmes at 1:15 p.m. The game is on CBS.

Holmes leads the NFL with 857 rushing yards and has scored 13 touchdowns. He also led the NFL in rushing last season with 1,555 yards and scored eight touchdowns.

Before that, Holmes was struggling just to stay in the NFL.
