Clump's Official & Final 53 man roster prediction

Ok....y'all can search for my other prediction threads for comparison or you can click here http://www.billszone.com/fanzone/showthread.php?t=52734

This is my final prediction of how I believe the 53 man roster will look. I will also project the practice squad. Explantions will follow the roster

    Offense

    QB: Bledsoe, Matthews, Losman*
    RB: Henry, McGahee, S. Williams
    FB: Shelton, Burns
WR: Moulds, Reed, Evans, Shaw, Aiken
    TE: Campbell, Neufeld, Euhus
    LT: Jennings
    LG: L. Smith, Pucillo
    C: Teague, Tucker
    RG: Villarrial, Sobieksi
    RT: M. Williams, M. Price
    K: Lindell

    Total: 26

    Defense

    LDE: Kelsay, Denney
    LDT: Adams, Edwards
    RDT: P. Williams, Bannan, Anderson
    RDE: Schobel, McKenzie
    SOLB: Posey, Stamer
    MLB: Fletcher, Crowell
    WOLB: Spikes, Stevenson, Haggan
    LCB: Vincent, Thomas
    SS: Milloy, Wire
    FS: Reese, Prioleau, Baker
    RCB: Clements, McGee
    P: Moorman
    LS: Dorenbas

    Total: 27

    Practice Squad

OL McFarland, QB Zolman, FB Lawton, WR Smith, DE Ritzmann, CB Greer, TE Peters, LB Towns (**if Zolman doesn't qualify for PS, then add OT Porter**)

    Cut, Released, and/or Waived

G Esposito, RB Simonton, WR Haddad, OL Sullivan, TE Trafford, DT Sape, DE Gildon, CB Dixon.

    Injury settlement

    QB T. Brown

    Notes

Remember that versatility and salary cap play a role in choosing the 53 man roster

    1) Matthews showed me he could handle the #2 QB spot. Bills could re-sign Brown after week 10 if Losman is not ready. Saves a roster spot for a healthy player (cold and mean as well but it's a business)

    2) Gildon looked like a player who knew the end was near. Good career and he may have a chance somewhere else, but I think he's gone because McKenzie can play special teams.

    3) Sullivan just looks like someone who doesn't want it. I haven't been too impressive by his play at OT. He probably doesn't have the mental toughness to play the game. He won't be unemployed long a number of teams needing OL help. Pucillo makes it for another day but better not get comfy

    4) I really liked what I saw of Shaud Williams. He reminds me of Dave Meggett. Tough call picking him over Simonton who will likely get an opportunity elsewhere.

    5) Zolman is not likely to be signed by anyone else. If he can be added to PS, then I would so he can continue to work with the team. If he cannot, I still release him and hopefully have him available if needed.

    6) Milloy's injury is the only thing saving Prioleau. Baker has looked good. Prioleau would represent a decent cap savings in both 2004 & 2005 ($1 million in 2004 and $1.25 million in 2005). Prioleau could be a candidate for trade just as.....

    7) Bannan is someone who could be traded for a late rd pick. It wouldn't surprise me if a trade occurs as it would open a roster spot. This only happens if the Bills feel Anderson is ready AND addition of a player in Bannan's spot can contribute more than Bannan.

Bubble players on above roster: G Pucillo, RB S. Williams, DT Bannan, LB Haggan, S Prioleau

Bubble players could be released/traded/etc if Bills decide to add someone released by another team.

I hope JJ can stay healthy or our line could go from average to dismal in a hurry.. We lack depth.

I agree as well. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Bills pick up at least one offensive lineman off of the waiver wire. If they can pick up someone who can play OG and OT, Pucillo is gone. I still would keep McFarland over Pucillo as it is--McFarland may be raw, but he hasn't been a lot of penalties and getting his butt whipped like Pucillo has. I might even keep Sullivan over Pucillo, even though he hasn't played anywhere near up to his talent level, because Pucillo simply can't play when gametime rolls around.
Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. And, thus it was that they surrendered their freedom; not with a bang, but without even a whimper.

How do you still have Burns making this team? Has he even been on the field so far??

I like Lawton over Burns, Gildon over McKenzie, and Haggan cut to allow a spot for Greer. Oh, and McFarland over Pucillo.

The additional PS spots could then go to Koons, Dixon and Porter, or perhaps at least one spot to another team's cut.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

I'll stick with my original 53...the only change was an unforeseen injury to Brown...

Burns is not making the team...he was injured all of preseason...

Price has stepped in before and done a fantastic job. But after Price our depth across the whole line is suspect.

What does the "*" after Losman mean? Just that he's injured and won't be around for a while? You didn't refer back to it in your appendices.

'Sulking' Sullivan was terrible as guard last year in Baltimore. The theory is he intentionally tanked the game for a comment by him/his agent "Sullivan makes a better tackle because of his arms.".
