Official: U.S. Capture of bin Laden Close

Let's hope. I could care less what political effects this would have, I just want them to catch this *******. :up:Agreed. All I want is that f***ing, s**teating, c***sucking, a**hole to be strung up by his nads and tortured to death.....slowly. Then next time another terrorist wants to die for their cause, they'll think twice. It's one thing to quickly blow oneself up....quite another to be slowly tortured to death.

Sorry if that sounds brutal, but that is the ONLY language these animals understand. Granted, the saying "that will make us no better than them" is applicable and I agree to some extent. However, if it is between us and them, I choose us. Whatever method it takes to take them out I'd support.

You mean like we see video of Osama being "captured", he commits "suicide" ramming his head into a brick wall in prison and his sealed coffin is sent back to SA for burial?

Something like that?

BTW, you guys don't seem to be getting very far with Saddam.

Do you think he gets a chance to spill the beans or will he die in prison too?

Probably the same reason you can't have more than 2 branches of government in the same place at any given time. It's a security threat issue.

I bet we capture Osama the weekend before the election

For what he did, he should be imprisoned and brutally, publicly punished, but bin Laden is one of many. If you think capturing him will change anything you're mistaken. There are a hundred wealthy oil barrons in the Middle East with as much or more wealth and power than he has. Osama just happens to be the visible leader of a huge terrorist organization that has since splintered into dozens of independent cells. The men with the money will find another and will operate uninhibited as long as the flow of oil continues, especially since oil companies have found that Americans are willing to pay near $2/gallon for gas. What was that anti marijuana ad? Something about "if you buy drugs, you're funding terrorists." Well...I think that goes double for SUV owners who buy gas at any of these fuel stations: Exxon, Chevron, BP, Gulf, Kwik Fill stores, Texaco (lol), Mobil and many others. People are so fixated on revenge that they overlook the problem and it's causes. If only life were so simple.

I take the commuter rail and a bus. I used to work closer to home and then I usually rode my bike even in the rain. When the snow was bad, I drove my Focus which gets 33 MPG highway. My next car, possibly next year is going to be a Prius. Thanks for asking.

Getting Bin Laden now means very little.
Getting him before 2001 was important.

They know exactly where he is.

They've always known exactly where he is.

How many times now have they announced they're close to capturing Bin Laden?

Eight, ten times?

They'll never capture him because you don't capture your partner.

And besides, they don't need to.

All they need to do is just announce they're close to get the usual Pavlovian reaction.

They probably got him stashed away somewhere right now.
He'll conveniently appear when GW sees he's in trouble about a week before the election.

If he's not in trouble he'll show him off right after the re-election and will say that the american public should be proud of keeping him in office since he knows how to deal with filthy terrorists.

I don't cares how, when or where they catch this guy as long as they catch him! Politics aside, this man was responsible for the worst attack on American soil. I hope they have him in a jail somewhere, then he is less of a threat to us, and they can show him to the world whenever. Just get this man!

I seriously doubt they have him, and I seriously doubt they know exactly where he is or that they're waiting to catch him near election day. That kind of thinking is just retarded, Bush hating, bitterness. There's no way it could be done without looking like it was politically motivated. That being said, I hope they catch him today just to shut people up! :shakeno:

UMMMMMMM... I am just wondering how this could be good for BUSH???

see, to me, if they CONVENIENTLY caputre Bin Laden just before the election, I would be inclined to believe that they cuold have captured him anytime they wanted... so to wait until it was politacally convenient for Bushes re-election would REALLY PISS ME OFF.

It seems as though it would be VERY IRRESPONSIBLE for a president to allow a man that murdered 3000+ people live free to plot against everyone further just to get re-elected.

I'd be WICKED mad....

I've heard an intriguing theory...

They know right where Bin Laden is, but choose NOT to get him yet.

Why? The intelligence they are gathering from his communiques are rooting out his whole network. They keep him on a short leash and get the inside info on all of his plans.

Sounds feasible. Then come November 1st, he's captured. Election clinched for Bush and company.

Flip that coin then.... So, now we are gonna give up the amazing intelligence that could root out the whole al queda networl so that Bush can get the PR he needs to win?

Meanwhile, somone else even crazier takes over al CIAeda and we have less intelligence on what THEY are up to.

Again, political greed wins over the public's best interest.

I would hope not. I'd rather hope they use it to indeed take out the entire terrorist underground. I don't believe Bush would take away the best insider source of terrorist info if they could be in that situation. However if it was a situation of catch'em or leave'em go, I want him caught....

Pakistan: U.S. Official's Osama Claim Was 'Political'

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Pakistan Tuesday dismissed a claim by a U.S. counter-terrorism official that the United States and its allies were closing in on the world's most wanted man, Osama bin Laden.

Pakistani media Sunday quoted Cofer Black, State Department coordinator for counter-terrorism, as saying that the United States and its allies have put the al Qaeda leader on the defensive, increasing chances of his capture soon.

But Pakistani Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said Black's remarks were a "political statement."

"We don't have any information about that," Ahmed told Reuters by telephone from Saudi Arabia where he is accompanying Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on an official visit.

My point was.... no matter how you spin it, catching Bin Laden JUST before the electin is either the biggest coincidence i've seen in years, or a SHAMELESS way of trying to steal yet another election for the benefit of a few men (BUSHIES) while risking further damage to the American people (and all people for that matter.
