View Full Version : So...why was Gildon cut?

Did he really suck that much? He wasn't played much in preseason, so I don't think there was enough looks at him to make that judgement. Maybe he just didn't fit our 4-3?

He showed nothing when he did play. I guess he's washed up.

Totally unproductive.

For amount he was paid, he was not productive enough.

Maybe Donahoe will consider him after week 1 if an injury occurs.

I thought he got a $100,000 signing bonus

He did but that's really nothing football wise.

I think that the guys we have in place showed a higher level of production than expected, so Gildon really wasn't needed.

exactly, the 3 way comp has shown us 2 improved starters (or splitters) from last year.

My thoughts on Gildon:

It's like you always say.. "bring him into camp and lets see what he can do" Well, he didn't do much. His first step wasn't there and neither was his strenght. He obviously looked tired and he couldn't produce. I bet he will get picked up somewhere and it would be great if a team without many good LBs or just a bad overall defense picks him up. He just couldn't keep up or perform at a level that the Bills in camp were going at.

He is pretty much washed up too by the way :ee:

Kinda like Pucillo.

Oh wait... Pucillo made the team.....

I don't mind so much cutting Gildon. I was beginning to think that we brought in all kinds of past-their-prime name guys just for their names, and not focusing on developing young talent. I rather have them cut Gildon than Kelsay, or Bannan for that matter.
