It’s only a year and a half since Gregg Williams came into town, hired his own staff and the words were massaging the drums of the fans time after time after time. Those words were: “We are teachers. We will be teaching the players.”
Last Sunday, the teachers were taught a lesson on game planning; coaching, execution; tackling and everything else that helped the Patriots embarrass the Bills 38-7. Gregg Williams, Jerry Gray, Mike Sheppard, (then offensive coordinator) and the rest of the hand-picked coaches kept the cadence going last year – “We are teachers – we will teach.”

Many of the players and even the coaches were absent Sunday and there was no truant officer to find these students who got a failing grade. Even the Dean of the Bills Teaching University, Ralph Wilson, was surprised at the happenings on his home field in the biggest game of the season for Buffalo.

Ralph was quoted in the Rochester D&C that the turning point of the game occurred when Gregg Williams decided to punt from the New England 32 on fourth down. That boot sailed all of 15 yards and the Pats shoved it down the throat of a Bills defense that was helpless – if not clueless. Ralphie was not (and probably isn’t) a happy camper.

My question on that kick decision is; the week before we were only kicking to Detroit's 30 in fear of a run back from a prolific runback specialist. Detroit was starting last week on their 38 all day because of that. So I still can't understand G. W.'s logic!

GO!!!...BUFFALO!!!...

I have been trying to figure it out for days. We went on 4th down when in our own territory and converted it. On their 30 when you can't kick a field goal it's a no brainer to go for it. The only way you even think about punting is when you have a bone crushing defense no one can move the ball against. Not. Plus we badly needed to score next to stay in the game. Instead it turned into a total blowout. This will go down as one of the great unsolved mysteries in history.

If GW and co don't make it happen in KC, they will all probably be out a job. KG can stay, but we need some freaking improvement.

Artie is no fan. He doesn't know what he's talking about.

How on earth can he criticize the coaching when it's been flawless. Defense is the reason we're losing.
