Time for a moment of silence.

:gag:

Now that that's over with, let's watch some oldtime hockey on tape, DVD, or ESPN classics.

I think December is being a little optimistic. Someone was just stating how if the word cap comes up in meetings, the NHLPA leaves.

Goodenow - Good morning Gary
Bettman - Hello
Goodenow - How are things
Bettman - fine, that is a nice cap you have there
Goodenow - We're out of here!!!!!!!!!!!

No. If it takes that long, then there won't be a season IMO.

It took that long to resolve during the first lockout...

They set a deadline...Dec 31...no agreement, no season.

what sucks about that deadline is that they wont even start having real talks until the middle of december, just like the negotiations didnt really kickin full force until a couple weeks ago. if they had started negotiating more often earlier in the summer and after the playoffs then they might have been able to resolve it by now.

dude, this was a forgone conclusion...imo, there was no chance of a season this year.

there might have at least been a chance if there had been consistent negotiations.

if you were knowingly going to shut the game down wouldn't you just go through the motions too?

yea but they also know that sooner or later, the league is going to start back up again, so they might as well have tried to make it sooner by spending more time negotiating instead of predicting how long the lockout will be.
