K-Gun was NOT named after Kelly!

It was named after the TE!

In an otherwise good article in USA Today, the writer misses this point:
At Aurora, Beebe uses a hybrid of the no-huddle (K-Gun, named after quarterback Jim Kelly) and West Coast offenses he learned playing for the Bills and Packers. His quarterback-wide receiver combo of Nate Peterson and Terrence Pool has teamed for seven touchdowns in the three games.
    more

Jim Kelly was a great QB and definitely worthy of a first round admission to Pro Hall of Fame but not everything resolved around him. For the K-Gun, the offense was named after the bullet not the shooter.

    If the writer had a e-mail address I'd e-mail him a correction.

Keith McKellers!!! I loved that guy. Damn injuries ruined his career. He was Shannon Sharpe before Shannon was Shannon Sharpe....

See, if the writer had been a zoner almost 2 years ago, he would've known it.

Yet another benefit of being a zoner.

I've known that for a while, but the USA today doesn't check their sources. They might think that Gale Gilbert is still on our team

Is it "McKellers" with an "s" or just McKeller?
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

It's McKeller...Keith McKeller from Jacksonville State.
I think you the guy who said McKellers is half thinking of Metzelaars who played at the same time.

I think you guys are still mis-led, The K-gun is named after Jim Kelly, it has always been on going joke between Bruuuuce, Reed, Thomas, Kelly, etc... that they have said it was named after McKeller. In fact it wasn't even orginated within the bills organization, the phrase was coined by the pre-game guy on NBC (i forget his name it was 14 years ago)-- the Bills have always reffered to it as the "no huddle"

That's what I thought as well. I didn't know about the McKeller joke, but I always undertood the "K-Gun" term to be a catch phrase made up by the sports media. Now I'm confused.
