    Raiders return to old-style offense

    The Oakland Raiders' offense is undergoing a personality transplant.
    The Raiders have been known the past five years as the dink-dink-dunkingest, short-passing-happiest team in the NFL.

    The team that lines up today against the Buffalo Bills is shedding the image of its previous two coaches - Jon Gruden and Bill Callahan - and trying to get back to the Raider glory days.

    "We saw more ball control and the true West Coast offense when coach Gruden was there, getting five receivers out each snap," said Bills cornerback Troy Vincent. "It's a little bit different now. It's a true vertical game. When the vertical game is not there, (quarterback) Rich Gannon is smart enough to know to take what the defense gives him."
