Bledsoe's 3-yr contract contained a $6.5M signing bonus. He signed it before this season, and it breaks down as follows:

2004: $2.25M Salary, $2.166,666 Bonus amortization, $4,416,666 Cap number

2005: $3.3M Salary, $1.05M Roster Bonus, $2,166,667 Bonus amortization, $6,516,667 Cap number

2006: $4.35M Salary, $1.05m Roster Bonus, $2,166,667 Bonus amortization, $750K LTBE incentives, $8,316,667 Cap number

If Bledsoe is released, it would likely be before the $1.05M Roster bonus is due. That would result is $4,333,334 in dead money on the Bills 2005 cap.

thanks NE39. It must be so nice to watch a winning team. I am honestly jealous and tired from all of this crap.

It was so stupid to give him the new contract. TD's in denial. Drew sucks.

You guys are over-reacting. The Pats have won, but they have been very sloppy with penalties and turnovers in the 2 games.

It is still only 2 games into the season.

NE...........do you honestly think we are over-reacting that our offense sucks. You of all people know how bad Drew is.

no it was not...the only solution was to cut him back before March...I am not in favor of DB right now but if not Drew then who?? And don't give me Jeff George. TD did all he could do with that contract. He got half of it pushed to next year. If he brought in Shane Matthews, Jeff Blake or ______ in March and this team was playing this way then what? The devil you know is better than the devil you don't. And you can't use the arguement about salary savings if DB wasn't here...the Bills are $5 mil under.

Or, in other words, cutting DB before 3/1 would save the Bills $1.2 mil in 2005 and $6.4 mil in 2006.
