    No more Candlestick Park

"The 49ers sold the naming rights of Candlestick Park to Monster Cable Products Inc., which produces stereo speaker cables. As of this Sunday, the stadium will be called Monster Park, according to the San Francisco Chronicle."

Aahh, yes, but do you remember that Candlestick was one of the first to sell its rights? . . . and why it was "again" called Candlestick?

I found it humorous when ESPN anchors like Berman refused to call it by its "old" new name, and instead referred to it as "the park formerly known as Candlestick."

The team announced Tuesday a four-year agreement with Monster Cable Products Inc. that will change the stadium's name to Monster Park.

While I know it's a business, it really does get annoying after awhile. They need to sign longer term deals....4 years is too short. Make them 10 years so that you have some consistency. At least we have the Ralph....although when he is gone I wonder if a corporate name gets put back up a la Rich. Money talks.

I just wish it could all be old school...Lambeau Field....Ralph Wilson Stadium.....honoring the people who made the game what it is today.

If the Bills keep playing like sh** they will probably rename the Ralph to ExLax Field.
