    Once again, Bills are dumbstruck

    By JERRY SULLIVAN
I'm actually starting to feel sorry for Drew Bledsoe. His shortcomings as a quarterback have been well-chronicled here. But it must be tough for him to stand up there, game after excruciating game, choking on his pride and anger, and take the heat for the dumbest team in pro football.
Just once, it would be refreshing if Bledsoe came out after a loss, heaved the lectern into the interview room and proclaimed, "I'm mad as hell and I can't take it anymore!"

Or we could fast-forward to the fourth quarter, when Fletcher scooped up a fumble (later ruled an incomplete pass after video review) and raced toward the New England end zone, touchdown flashing in his eyes. Rather than tuck the ball away, as any savvy Pop Warner player would, Fletcher reached out with the ball and had it fly through the end zone for a touchback, giving the ball back to the Pats.
Jerry, your memory isn't what it used to be, buddy.
