From Buffalo News
A year ago, the Saturday NFL wild card games were moved back to 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. This year, the Jan. 19 conference championships have been moved back 21/2 hours, to 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. If Buffalo or some other cold weather city is involved in any of the games, the fans in the stands will be shivering unless it's a mild January night. Of course, the NFL doesn't really care about the fans in the stands. It wants to maximize its television audience for the networks. Saturday night games proved to be huge successes last year, dominating the night that the networks typically can't draw flies.
