The Bills would pay for the surgery he already had, or he needs more surgery? Got a link, or did you hear on TV?

Bye-Bye Chidi

ArcticWildMan

Chidi has played better than he was expected to IMO. He's signed for a vet minimum anyway. No way do we cut him.

I'm w/ you Wildman!

He hasn't been stellar, but he's been average. There's other guys I would cut ahead of him.

He's on a one year deal, isn't he? If he is, he has played well and is probably going to want a raise.

If you want to mean "honest," Country, that's OK by me. I always have meant "humble" but then it's my honest opinion too.

Denney would be my first cut from the D-line to make room for Jones. I think Office would be the next guy. I don't think he has a whole lot of upside. I would keep Ahanotu. Jones would split time mostly with Schobel if I were the coach because RDE is his natural position I think. That's where he got the big sack totals.

He needs further knee surgery is what Mortenson said. He was unspecific of what kind or how long he would be recovering.

ArcticWildMan
11-12-2002, 09:49 AM
Denney needs an offseason to bulk up. He may come back next year and be a lot more productive. i still think that if he puts on 20 pounds or so he could be a tackle. His height would be a big asset in the middle if nothing else.

Yes. That is what Mort said...

TigerJ

Maybe Denney could bulk up and switch to tackle. He seems not to have the quickness a good DE needs. That won't change with more weight.

Who the hell is Marcus Jones?

casdhf
11-12-2002, 01:25 PM
He was the Bucs $1 pick in 96. He had a few years where he had good sack numbers...had 13 in 2000. He's a faster Chidi who is just as good against the run. He would definately be an improvement if the knee holds up.

He isn't the second coming of Bruce, but he would be an improvment

I don't think our D line could get much worse. Get this guy signed, and go after Takeo! We'll have a tougher D than the Phishies!!!

venis2k1
11-12-2002, 02:26 PM
Takeo would be a huge signing, i have been pushing for him for months, but its looking like he will stay a bungle. we still need a DT.

TigerJ
11-12-2002, 07:49 PM
I think about the only thing in common between Ahanotu and Jones is the fact that both played for Tampa Bay. Jones is 6'6" and 276. Ahanotu has never been a prolific sacker. Jones was when he played RDE. If he needs surgery, he will not make a contribution this year. It would be a great pickup for 2003 though.

I am currently of the opinion that our defensive priorities in the off season should be 1-OLB, 2-DE, 3-FS, 4-DT. Note those are probably also our overall priorities as well. On offence the main priority is re-sign Price.

if jones just needs some additional scope work to clean out his knee he could play in 3-4 weeks that would help us in the stretch if we are in the play offs

he is a good de but wed need to know if he has recoverd compleatly or if he is slower because of the surgery but he would be a huge help next year if hes healthy

There's an article about it on the Zone homepage. Sounds like a good signing if it comes to it. He'll probably be a cheap signing I would imagine since he still needs surgery.

Takeo Spikes, one of the most underrated LBs in the league. He plays for the Bungles.

German
11-15-2002, 08:39 PM
Never heard of him but I very rarely get to see the Bungles on TV down here in SC.
I'll check him out Dec.29th. I have tickets to that game.

4th, good to see you. It's been a while.

Why not? People do it everyday:

"Do I look fat in this?"
"Does my butt look too big?"
"Do you think these shoes go okay with this dress?"
"Do you like my cooking?"
"Do you mind if we don't have sex tonight? I have a headache."
"Could you stop watching the game for a minute so we can talk?"

Takeo Spikes, Brian Simmons, and Dillon have been the lone bright spots the last couple years for the Lions.

BTW, BFSIW...

I bet they'd all like to leave the bungles if given the chance - think of the turnaround we could have if we picked up Spikes and Simmons - we WILL NOT get our hands on Dillon - and we won't need him if Henry could stop fumbling.

venis2k1

Dillon hasn't produced this year, and i am not convinced he is that much better than Henry. But Spikes is 100% pure STUD!!!!

They both suck though, must be a cat thing.

Dillon produces every year!!

He has NO help.

Teams stack the line on him because they have no QB, and his OL isn't too good either.

I'm not saying Dillon and Simmons will be here, because I think Simmons signed a 5 yr contract extension in the offseason, and Dillon is locked up I think.

Will Spikes be available next year - anyone know?

If we get him, we can dump off some nobodies - like Polk.

yes spikes will be available next year, i got a feeling he is gonna get a good contract from the bungles, and stay there.

I am not so sure about that. he is only averaging 4.1 YPC, Not too bad. But he has 4 TD's and 2 Fumbles in 9 games. A "superstar" back should have more than 4 TD's in 9 games. His O-Line isn't great, but they are solid. And as for no help at QB, 2 weeks ago VS. The Texans, Kitna passed for 81.5% comp, 263 yards, 4 TD's(Dillons whole season of production) 0 ints, and a 146.8 Passer rating.

Tenn Pass D is ranked 23rd or 22nd I forgot, and have allowed 234.0 yards a game.

Cincy's pass O is ranked 25th, with a pathetic 191.0 yards a game.

Kitna has 10 INTs on the season
