    couch-CFL?

ERIC CROUCH has checked out the Argos up close. Now it's a question of whether the former Heisman Trophy winner will be back for a longer look.

Crouch and his wife, Nicole, were in town the past two days visiting the Argos, who have had his CFL rights for four years.

"We're obviously not doing anything this year. We're just keeping our options open," Argos president Keith Pelley said, adding the team didn't work out Crouch. "It was a routine visit and by no means is anything imminent."

Argos management has been in dialogue with Crouch's agents at various times, so the fact the once-celebrated quarterback came here could be a sign he is interested in playing again.

Crouch has not played since an unsuccessful experience last year with the Green Bay Packers and quit before he was cut.

Crouch won the Heisman Trophy in 2001 at the University of Nebraska and was being compared with another Heisman winner, Doug Flutie, who played for the Argos in 1996-97.

    CONCERNS

Because of concerns about Crouch's size and arm strength, NFL teams bypassed him in the 2002 draft before St. Louis took him in the third round as a receiver/return specialist.

Hampered by injuries and uncomfortable in a non-quarterback role, Crouch quit that time as well.

Ti-Cats are gonna kick your a** come the east semi-final. We would've had a chance if it wasn't for those 2 damn return TDs. You deserve to lose getting kicked out off your stadium by the Wiggles!

I have nothing to say about the "wiggles".... its horribly embarassing and kinda funny I think...
It shows the state of the CFL in Toronto and the sky dome in general...its a horrible stadium for football... I would much rather watch a game in Hamilton despite those Ti-Cats!
what do you think of the new stadium going up at York University?? I think it will be great to get out of the dome.. although the move from the downtown core could cause problems regarding attendence... (no like there is much anyways) though 22,000 was great to see last week!

I think it's about time the Argos get their own stadium, the Wiggles situation is real proof of that. It could be a tiny drop in attendance but you saw what the Als did with Molson Stadium. The enviremont (sp) should be much better at the new stadium and I think it should be a nice new stadium. Apparently the Argos have told the CFL that the first game will be against the Ticats, I'll try and get tickets to that one.

They had 30000 last week and the new stadium will hold 25000,the als are adding 5000 seats for next year. And if it takes off real good they can add to the seats, but at least the york site has plenty of parking and room to tailgate.

I was wondering if Couch had fallen so far so fast.

I guess he wants to play QB. He could make alot more money sitting on a NFL bench than playing QB in canada. Read today the hip are playing at the grey cup half time.

Tim Couch was just in Chicago for a tryout. The Bears had him workout, then come back the next day to see how his arm was. Whatever is wrong with him hasn't healed yet, because even if he was half assed, he'd be miles ahead of what the Bears have now.

Eric Crouch thinks he can be an NFL quarterback, but the NFL doesn't seem to agree with him. He probably could be an option QB in the CFL, where the skill level is down.

                            The Argos Can have him.........

If the NFL thinks he has a week arm then how is he going to handle the larger Canadian Field? A flop methinks...

McMannus doesn't have an NFL arm either.

Crouch can run. That's why he could play in the CFL.
