Should the # 90 have gone to Denney?

I think Phil Hansen's number deserves to go on the wall.

Thoughts....

I agree with you, Northern! Or don't let anyone wear that number for at least a year. I think there should be some sort of waiting period before you can wear a long time player's number.

i think hansen's name should be on the WALL.retiring his number is a different story.i'm not a believer in retiring numbers unless he ranks up there with the all-time greats.

The only number that has been retired in Bills history is #12. I loved Hansen but I have no problem with Denny having his number. Hansen should go on the wall but that doens't mean that his number can't be used anymore.

I don't think he should go on the wall. Good career, great guy, but not wall material.

There are only so many#'s. They can't retire every # that belonged to a great. Especially in football with the # requirements.

that's why i say only thurman. Bruce was great but a bad attitude and Reed was great too

i don't think anybody will wear 32 again....unless we get some great rb and make him wear it to restore the pride!

I agree with gameboy. He's not wall material. Great player, but there has to be a line somewhere.

I think us fans appreciate Hansen more because he exhibited so much class. He never embarassed himself or the organization. His style explemplified what Buffalo stands for which is carrying you lunch box to work and work hard and never give up.

I'm sorry about the mistake. My bad. I thought when you went on the wall they retired the # too. Now that I think about it, #12 is the only number retired by the Bills. And 2 greats did wear that # Fergie and Kelly.

I do agree with Jaded tho, there should be a years rest on a good players #.

Yeah...but if you're talking about the comment on #32....who wore that number last? Everytime I see that number I can't help but think of him.

My son has my old #32 shirt and someone who knew who #32 was, gave me heck for letting my son wear the shirt.

They gave 83 to Moore and Andre was a much better player than Hansen. I have no problem with it. I am not sure Hansen deserves the wall either? I imagine he will get up there someday though because he was a fan favorite.

Duhhh....sorry. I saw the Thurmal comments and thought it was about him. I try to think of OJ as little as possible. I loved the guy once, but I think he's guilty as hell. Fame and fortune can buy you justice anytime.

You don't measure Hansen's career by stats alone. His job was to jump into the gap and create some havoc - Bruce got all the glory because of his gaudy sack numbers. Bruce WAS the better player, but don't underestimate what Hansen did in the overall scheme of the defense. Wall - yes! Number - no. If his number can be an inspiration to Denny, then it is well worn.

I liked and respected Hansen for his play one the field and his attitude and integrity off of it, but I'm with gameboy and LOG. I think Hansen would agree too.
